Vada’s 1st trip to the dentist

Eating Sushi for the First Time

My family got in town yesterday to watch Vada while we're in Patagonia. My mom said she wanted to eat something adventurous so we went out for sushi. It was their first time (I've subjected my mom to random meals in NYC, but nothing of quality). They did pretty good. I think they tried everything including the Octopus sushi.

Vada sings songs quite a bit and this morning she was going on and on and let me video her. I am not sure what the first song is – something about “two snap fish” that in other renditions ended in cheek slapping “oh no”! Next she transitions to an abbreviated alphabet song with her attempt at sign language. And then she finishes with part of no more monkeys jumping on the bed.

Color theory

Building in solid colors and rainbow order took some negotiation on my part but makes me so happy! We’ll have to think about what we can do with the color next.

How we spent the weekend…

We made banana muffins since we had a bunch of over ripe bananas. Vada chose a recipe with a crumble on top. Yum! She is surprisingly OK to bake with… If you can handle a few ballpark measurements and some wild stirring.

We spent lots of time playing mega bloks. Vada is into creating elaborate towers. And Toban and I have so much fun that we bought another set on eBay so we can build even more.

Vada has her own little guitar (a cheap ukulele) but sometimes she wants to play the big one. She is not afraid to tell Mama to be quite so just Vada can sing.

Fat lip

Yesterday at daycare Vada fell down while pushing a truck around and got a bloody nose and fat lip. It didn’t seem to phase her too much but looked a little rough. (She is pouting her lip out in this picture even more than it is swollen.)

Snuggle time with Mama (and bunny)

Pink!

Vada got dressed up in all her pink and hearts today. She wouldn’t normally pose with her hands on her hips but I asked her to put them there to keep them out of her mouth. She must be getting some more teeth.
