Vada is fascinated with our shoes lately. We have to remove our shoes at the door of her daycare room and lately she has been grabbing Toban’s shoes from the pile and taking off with them. At home she is always bringing us the nearest shoe to put on. Here she is trying to walk in Toban’s shoes.
Vada enjoyed her yogurt this morning while showing off her no hands skills. And yes, this picture is from this morning – we wear the Halloween bib year round.
Toban and I have been sick this week, so I am posting more pictures from Vada's week at daycare. We are so thankful that she has been happy and healthy all week at daycare allowing us to get the rest we need to get better.
At least one loyal fan of the blog requested more pictures from Vada's daycare. Here is what they were up to this week.
We took a trip down to Newport, Oregon this weekend. They have an aquarium there that we had been wanting to visit. We camped in the van by the ocean but due to torrential, non-stop rains the aquarium visit was our only time outside of the van.
As many of you witnessed at Christmas, Vada’s hair is beginning to lay down. She looks so different without her halo of spiky fuzz. I can’t wait until it is long enough for pigtails!
It was cold over the New Year’s break here so we spent a lot of time putting on our coats. Jamie even has a coat she wears when it is cold. Here Vada is modeling Jamie’s coat.
In past years Toban and I have rang in the new year with an outdoor adventure. This year we cooked up a magnificent feast of cinnamon bread French toast with bacon and eggs and started plans for an epic van trip down the west coast.

Zoey let us play with her parachute after opening presents on Christmas morning. Even though Vada wasn’t feeling well she cracked a few smiles for this.
We successfully navigated the airports at Christmas! Since we used miles we were at the mercy of the airlines and ended up flying through Houston on the way to Wichita and then Chicago on the way home. But the airlines showed their Christmas spirit by moving us to first class for the final flight leg! We were much appreciative of the extra room and better food when we were all the most exhausted. Our biggest crisis was when we had to pry yellow blankie from Vada’s hands at the Wichita security line. We eagerly watched and waited for blankie to come through the security scanner. Just as we caught sight of it though, the security man snatched it to scan it again! Vada gave security a warranted scowl when yellow blankie was finally returned to her.
