Silver Falls

Here are more pictures from our quick trip to Silver Falls State Park this weekend. It is a rain forest that features 10 waterfalls just an hour and a half south of Portland. Dogs aren’t allowed on the main waterfall trails so we did a side trail with Jamie and then hiked to the largest closest waterfall while Jamie napped in the van. The trail goes behind the waterfall which is amazing but means you get pretty wet. Vada seemed pretty grumpy about this and was ready to get back to the van for a hot lunch and dry clothes.

We drove a bit south this weekend to do some hiking, see some water falls and put some work I had done to the van (hot water heater, yea!) through the paces. Vada sure does love the van. She now does a Waldo-inspired low fist pump every time she sees the van. I’ll try to get it on video. Here she is yelling “CHEESE!!”

Cherry Blossom Tree

We have a lovely cherry blossom tree centered in the back of our yard. It has already peaked for the season and the blooms are falling off to blanket the yard. My favorite is when the blossoms get stuck to Jamie’s nose as she sniffs around the yard.
Oh, and you can also see the hair clip in Vada’s hair in these pictures. Her hair is growing straight down into her eyes but I don’t want to cut it.

Oh boy!

Look at Vada's expression! She looks so happy holding Max's hand. Good thing Toban thinks Max is a pretty cool little guy.

Art Show

Today was the art show at Vada’s daycare. I was able to get her picture next to her masterpiece. Below is the description for the artwork:

“Vada walked over to a line of different colored paint buckets and picked out the colors red, blue and black. After choosing a wide bristled paint brush, Vada used her right hand to dip the brush into paint. She tapped the paint brush two times on the white canvas before dipping the brush back into the paint. Vada later began to make longer brush strokes that covered the canvas with paint.”
