Vada is making progress everyday on potty training. She got new rain boots this week for filling up another row on her chart.
Today was Max’s birthday party. Vada was pretty excited to see him. As soon as we got there he gave her a big hug and they took off running together holding hands. They are pretty good friends.
This is our view every night of Vada on her baby monitor. She likes to have her bouncy Rody donkey keep watch over her. I don’t know about you but I would be creeped out to have that plastic face grinning at me in the middle of the night!

In an effort to further embrace Vada’s room as her own, I switched out the artwork on the walls to be her own creations from daycare. She was very pleased to see her artwork going in the frames and hanging on her walls.
Vada loves her “baby” blankets but they are just not big enough to keep her covered up at night. When we were at the store today we told her she could pick out a big blanket and pillow. I should have pre-walked the aisles and directed her to the sophisticated blankets that would have looked lovely in her room that I spent so long decorating. But I didn’t. She immediately found the brightly colored Hello Kitty section and never let go. She grabbed the pink and purple fleece Hello Kitty blanket and pillow off the shelf and even tested them out on the store floor. She was clearly in love. I was a bad, selfish designer Mom and still tried to convince her to consider the subtly colored blankets but she had made up her mind. She clutched the blanket under her arm the rest of the trip and even asked to go to bed as soon as we got home. We set up her crib without the front side to help create her new Hello Kitty bed. And she loves it. She wouldn’t even stay still for a good photo.
Vada’s daycare invited all the parents over this afternoon for a back to school celebration. It was great to see how much Vada loves the toddler play yard.
