I think I have mentioned it before how differently Vada interacts with me and with Toban. She likes to cuddle and giggle and dance and sing with me. But with Toban she likes to get rowdy.
Grandma sent a fun Dora Valentine kit so today Vada and I got them ready to pass out this week. The Valentine cards each got a Dora sticker or two but Vada’s shirt received by far the most stickers.
On Sunday we dropped by a Super Bowl party at a bowling alley. It was a Nike party including some of our factory partners from Sri Lanka. Vada was excited to meet new people until we got there and she clammed up. She did try her hand at bowling though with the help of a kiddy ramp.
It’s my first trip back in a long time so I’m making the most of it. Two rounds of Chinese food, pizza, and wrapping it up with some NY cheesecake. 30 more hours until I leave. Clearly I need more time. Greatest city in the world…
The sun is shining this morning and Vada picked out a cute shirt dress to wear. I asked her to stand by the wall so I could take her picture but she wanted to stand by Jamie.
Vada went through a classic daycare rite of passage today. Being bitten by a “friend”. The accident report stated that Vada cried for awhile but by the time we got her home she seemed unfazed by the bite mark.
Carmen nor I have used a blow dryer in at least 20 years, but it has become a mandatory part of Vada’s routine. Of course, neither of us owns a robe either (especially one monogrammed with our name).
We visited an elephant orphanage on our way back to the city today. I was worried that elephants would be chained down and sad. I was blown away. Elephants were roaming freely in a large sized pasture and river and we could walk up and watch with no fence between us. One brave little elephant ran a lap through the crowd like “nana-nana-booboo you can’t catch me.”
Is that what you yell when you golf? I really have no interest in golfing but I am out numbered by boys on this trip. At least the scenery is amazingly beautiful.
