Pony Ride!

On the way home from the coast last weekend I screeched at Toban to stop the van when I saw I sign for pony rides. PONY RIDES! We both looked at each other and agreed that Vada probably wouldn’t actually get on a pony but I really wanted to give it a try. When we got out of the van Vada said she did want to ride a pony so we paid the $5 but still didn’t truly believe that she would actually get on a pony. But she did! No hesitation! No Mom or Dad walking by her side! She’s not really smiling but she was calm and content the entire ride. She even told the pony handler how old she was. When asked what the pony ride was like she said “soft”.

Oh, and her pony’s name is Champion.

Van trip to the coast

We headed to the coast last weekend for a quick van trip!

Vada is starting to do much better entertaining herself in the backseat. It helps that her car seat has cup holders and that Jamie rides back there with her much of the time.

We visited a sea lion cave. The pictures in the actual cave overlooking the sea lions are too dark to see anything so you get the picture of Vada and I by the sea lion statue outside. Vada had no reference for sea lions and kept asking if they would roar.

We stopped at some amazing beaches. Too bad the wind was frigid! The tiny specs in the middle are Toban and Jamie running around in circles.

Mexican food for lunch before he drive home. Vada had a hard time waiting for her guacamole but once it arrived she was all business. We didn’t hear a peep out of her the entire meal until she announced she was all done and climbed down from her chair.

Bubble pipe

We got this bubble pipe from G-Ma’s and it is amazing! (Hopefully Vada only inhaled a little bit of bubble liquid.) Even Jamie was curious!

Kansas

We were in Kansas a week ago to help G-Ma get married and packed up to move! But we also squeezed in a day with Grandma and Grandpa. It cooled down enough in the evening to let Vada run around the back yard and have some summer fun!

Porsche

Toban took us to a Porsche auto show this weekend. I guess he wants to get Vada entrenched in finer car details at a young age. Hope this doesn’t come back to bite us when she turns 16 and is begging for not just any car but a Porsche.

Secret Garden

Vada and I pass through a small garden on our walk just before we get to her daycare. It is filled with apple trees so now we have to check on their growth every day twice a day.

Glasses

No Vada does not need glasses. I was trying out some glasses at home and Vada wanted to play too.

Hair

Vada loves to blow dry her hair. She has been playing hair salon at daycare as well.

Tattoos

Vada’s daycare teachers are young and live in Portland (where tattoos are everywhere) so most of them have tattoos on their feet/ankles. Oliver, the youngest friend in Vada’s class frequently checks my ankles for tattoos too. Vada came home from daycare this week with “tattoos” that she had drawn on her feet. Uh-oh.

School yard

Vada and I were at home yesterday spending some extra time together. The schools here (including the middle school just beyond our back yard) are still in session so Vada was able to see everything in action during the day. She watched organized PE classes, band practice, and recess from her playhouse viewing platform. Usually the lawn mower tractor is the biggest hit for her but I think this was quite impressive.
