Vada finished up another year at Nike daycare right before Labor Day. They hosted a party for all the parents and boy was Vada wound up! And there wasn’t even sugar involved… just a lot of friends, sunshine and an audience of parents. Let’s take a look back at the highlights from her year in Corky Cortez! I love how she perfected her nose-scrunch smile over the year! On Tuesday Vada moved with her teachers and friends to their new classroom called Burt Bruin. (FYI… The daycare rooms are named after famous Nike shoes.)
The logistics of coordinating one car for both Toban and my schedules has become increasingly difficult. So this week we got a tiny commuter car to help out! It only has two seats so Vada gets to sit up front. And she basically shook with excitement her first trip… Even though she did request for the car to be pink!
Nike hosts a family fun day every summer. Last summer Vada was too scared to try any of the bouncy houses or slides but this summer she wanted to try everything! It was a lot of fun. We ran into a lot of her daycare friends too (Oliver is in the last picture). There was one slide that Vada climbed up and then got scared… Toban had to help rescue her.
Most days Vada and I get to work with me pushing her in the stroller. Some days when Toban drives us we end up with no stroller to get home. Normally this is workable but when I picked up Vada at daycare on Monday she had lost one of her sandals. I told the teacher that normally she could just ride barefoot home but we needed to walk that day and I didn’t have her stroller. The only pair of shoes they could find to send us home with were these super beat up lady bug rainboots. I ended up carrying both her and the relatively heavy rain boots most of the way so I should have probably just gone with the one lightweight sandal.
This morning was the annual picnic for our local greyhound organization. We always get so excited to take Jamie so she can run and play with all the other greyhounds. And then each year we get there and quickly remember that Jamie couldn’t care less. This is our dog, laying down in the middle of the chaos of the picnic, totally calm without a care.
I had to stop to take some pictures of V on our walk home today. Such a sweet little girl…
This morning our project was to load up our old rotten deck and falling down fence. I was thrilled when Vada wanted to wear a bandana like me! Now if only we could find her missing gardening gloves…
